Abstract:This article highlights challenges faced by food authorities and explores the imperative role that is played by effective communication strategies employed by food safety authorities with a specific focus on Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). It discusses different aspects related to communication with innovative strategies, such as AI-driven sentiment analysis, utilization of chatbots and artificial intelligence, addressing misinformation, emerge as crucial components in addressing challenges related to monitoring public perception, addressing queries and scientific uncertainty, and competing for attention. This article looks at the relevance of communication in fostering consumer trust, especially in the context of a rapidly evolving digital landscape, emerging technologies, and the prevalence of misinformation. The dynamic landscape of risk communication necessitates continuous adaptation and proactive measures to empower consumers and ensure food safety. The SFDA’s multifaceted approach stands as a model for effective risk communication in the ever-evolving digital age.
