Abstract:This study investigated the boring ability of four stored grain insects including Tribolium castaneum, Cryptolestes ferrugineus, Rhizopertha dominica, and Sitophilusoryzae to seven common rice packaging materials at the temperature of 28 ℃ and relative humidity of 75%±5%. The results showed that the double-sided coated perforated packaging material and the single-sided film perforated packaging material exhibited poor insect resistance and had no defense against the four insects at different life stages. However, the double-sided coated non-perforated packaging material, the double-sided coated packaging material with lining, the vacuum PE packaging material, and the inflatable PE packaging material can prevent the boring of the four insects.
